2015 was an amazing year for Connect the Doc and 2016 is looking to be even better!
5 Biggest Highlights of 2015:
1. 950% Growth From March 2015- December 2015
In 2015, we managed to grow the company by more than 950% after opening up the platform to healthcare providers across North America. At the rate we’re going, by the end of January, we should easily hit 1000%.

2. New Feature – Review Automation & Reputation Management Add-On
In June, we added reputation management and review automation through a technical partnership with Birdeye. CTD clients get complete access to this program at a fraction of the regular price when bundled with Connect the Doc’s referral and online booking platform. Logic behind this partnership was to maximize referral conversion because we found that most patients that were referred by friends / family were still looking at Google and Yelp reviews before booking / requesting an appointment online through Connect the Doc.
3. New Feature – Referral Automation Through Email Triggers
In September, we added a HUGE feature to the site to help practices automate the process of asking patient to refer their friends and write reviews. Through email automation on Connect the Doc, practices can “trigger” various email sequences and templates that pull custom variables that are specific to the patient.
What makes this so unique is that every patient also gets a unique, trackable referral link that can be shared across social media. With this feature, practices were able to ask for referrals and reviews without feeling awkward or uncomfortable.
4. Published eBook / Whitepaper on How to Get More Referrals and Reviews
The internet is changing – and really fast. Many practices no longer have the budget to invest in Google Adwords or Search Engine Optimization. Cost-per-clicks have increased significantly over the last 15 years from 10 cents to $10. For most private practices, internal marketing (specifically referrals) have been the lifeblood of new business and practice growth. The eBook that we’ve published will help you get more referrals (and more reviews) without you having to spend crazy amounts of marketing dollars.

5. New Partnership – Lighthouse 360
One of the challenges that many practices are trying to solve is to automate appointment reminders and re-activation. Not surprisingly, there are dozens of softwares that plug into your practice management software that do this. Most popular ones are Demandforce, Solution Reach, Patient Activator, and Lighthouse 360.
To make the process of asking for referrals and reviews as seamless and integrated as possible, we’ve formed a partnership with Lighthouse 360. If you’re already using LH360, an alternative solution, or would like to learn more, let me know so I can explain the best ways for you to benefit from this type of integration.
6. New Partnership – Paubox
Many of our clients have voiced their concern about HIPAA compliant emails and communication. Through our partnership with Paubox, you’ll be able to make your existing mailbox HIPAA compliant without the hassle of extra steps other email encryption providers require. You can also create HIPAA compliant encrypted forms and share data the safe way through branded storage.
Once you get a Paubox account, you’ll be able to connect it with your Connect the Doc account and trigger automated email sequences and templates. To learn more about Paubox, contact me and I’ll connect you with their founder.
Plans for 2016
2016 is going to be a big year. We’re about 50 accounts shy of being extremely well positioned to do a $3-$5M round of financing, which generally would take between 6-9 months to actually close.
For 2016, we have 2 primary goals:
- Continue to develop new features that will make it easy for you and your practice to get more referrals, reviews, and bookings.
- Form more technology partnerships that will enable us to provide you with services that are going to help you become more profitable and more efficient.
